    • In accordance with the humanitarian assistance and corporate social responsibility, THSRC donated an amount of NTD 5 million to Social Affairs Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government to help victims and families of the “1014 Fire Tragedy in Yancheng District” to get through the hardships together.
    • THSRC won the "Three-Star Medal Excellence Management Quality Award" in Enterprise Category from the Chinese Society for Quality.

    • THSRC has issued a Sustainability Bond for the first time to raise an amount of NTD 1 billion, with a maturity of 3 years and a fixed annual interest rate of 0.3 percent. It is also the first domestic transportation service provider to issue a Sustainability Bond.

    Received six 2017 Golden Safety Awards (Equipment Maintenance Category) for outstanding performance in vehicle maintenance (Vehicle Maintenance Division at Main Workshop), signals maintenance (central region Signaling and Communication Division), route maintenance (southern region Facilities Maintenance Division), mechanical and electrical facilities at maintenance depots (Wuri Depot), mechanical and electrical facilities at stations (Tainan Station), and maintenance of station environments (Changhua Station; first place).

    • Hosted four "Railway Culture Lectures" every Saturday afternoon at the Taoyuan THSR Museum.
    • The iTaiwan free Wi-Fi network was made available along HSR line.

    Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance issued a TOSHMS and OHSAS 18001 dual compliance certificate to THSRC; the certificate verified THSR stations, depots, facilities along the line, and office environments. THSRC seeks to provide the best workplace environments for employees through implementation of safety concepts.

    Organized a press conference at Nankang Station to launch the "Magic-Theater Themed HSR Family Train" travel package; familiar and magical stories were conveyed through interactive performances of clowns and puppets paired with special lighting effects, and HSR trains were transformed into forests, oceans, deserts, and starry skies, allowing passengers to journey far and wide while enjoying these wondrous stories.

    Completed installation of "Multiple Electronic Card Integration Platform," allowing co-branded iPass cards with automatic top-up functions to be swiped at station gates for access to non-reserved seats, providing passengers with more diversified ticketing options and more convenient train services.

    THSRC collaborated with the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute (TFRI) and the Wutong Foundation to launch the "2017 Traveling with Saplings" program, gifting 1,000 native tree saplings; international volunteers participated in a joint tree planting demonstration for the general public.

    • Yanchao Main Workshop was designated a "2016 Outstanding Water Conservation Unit" by the Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs.
    • Participated in the "2016 Annual Conference and Intelligent Transporation and Application Seminar" hosted by the Intelligent Transportation Society of Taiwan and received an intelligent transportation application award for our "integrated intelligent platform for maintenance scheduling and maintenance workshop management."

    • THSRC won a Gold Award in the Transportation category from CommonWealth Magazine's 2016 Golden Service Awards.

    • THSRC collaborated with the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute (TFRI) of the Executive Yuan and the Wutong Foundation to launch the "Traveling with Saplings" program.
    • The High-Speed Educational Endowment Program has been hosted annually since 2010, inviting passengers to donate via envelopes in seat pockets, donation boxes, and online; this year, THSRC collaborated with the Eden Social Welfare Foundation and raised 12 million NTD to help more than 600 developmentally challenged children. Donations accumulated over the past seven years have exceeded 100 million NTD, helping 18,000 disadvantaged students from rural areas to receive education.
    • Convened extraordinary general meeting for 2016 and passed two motions: "Proposal for application of stock listing" and "Proposal for original shareholders to abandon option for priority purchases of newly listed stock." Shareholders also passed proposals relating to revisions of relevant regulations in accordance with stock listing needs in preparation for going public. THSRC subsequently began preparing for associated application procedures according to these resolutions for submission to competent authorities and began selecting a date for public listing.
    • Signed a "memorandum of cooperation" with the Central Weather Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to enable traffic dispersion decisions during typhoons that minimize impacts on passengers and provide comprehensive weather information and better service quality through mutual cooperation.
    February
    • Initiated "Tainan Earthquake Relief Project" to fulfill our corporate social responsibilities, assisting a total of 130 rescue teams in traveling to the region, sponsoring 445 applications and almost 1,900 HSR tickets.
    • Displayed calligraphy work by Dong Yang-Tzu at Miaoli Station to convey our spirit of integrity.
    • The Taiwan Lantern Festival event coincided with the Peace Memorial Day vacation, setting new single-day ridership records for THSRC: a total of 146,000 passengers passed through Taoyuan Station that day, and more than 267,000 passengers traveled on the HSR.
  • 2015
    December
    • Hosted opening ceremony for newly added Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin stations linked by videoconferencing, all three stations simultaneously pushed a handle to symbolize commencement of HSR train services and announce the official opening of these stations.
    • Upgraded ticketing gate functions at all stations which allowed multi-directional insertion of magnetic tickets.
    November
    • A train carrying the motif of an underglazed blue dragon was launched to mark the start of a shuttle bus service connecting Chiayi HSR Station and the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum.
    • Launched discount program to celebrate the opening of Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin stations. Passengers holding designated tickets and with actual entry and exit records traveling to or from Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin stations could redeem their tickets for a free ticket in the same section at ticketing counters.
    • The 2014 THSRC Corporate Social Responsibility report passed independent verification by a third party and was verified as adhering to AA1000: 2008 standards with high-level assurance by the British Standards Institute.
    October
    • Added push notification function on T Express mobile ticketing system which provided relevant information on ticketing services, product promotions, and updates on operational status.
    • Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin stations passed MOTC inspections and obtained operating permits; all train schedules were fully updated starting from December 1 to reflect addition of these three stations, and ticket prices were adjusted back to prior levels.
    • THSRC's QR code e-ticket solution received the 2015 ITS Application Award from the Intelligent Transportation Society of Taiwan.
    September
    • Extended concession period, reduced capital increases, and distributed special dividends during 2015 extraordinary general meeting.
    • THSRC established a Muslim prayer room at Taichung HSR Station in order to better cater to the needs of Muslim passengers.
    • T Express app received Technical Innovation in Service Industry Award for 2015.
    August
    • The Hsinchu County Government hosted the "Hsinchu Lactation Room Location App and Lactation Room Location Certification Award Ceremony" at Hsinchu Station. Hsinchu Station was certified as a "Lactation Room Location."
    • The TR34 trainset, the newest addition to THSRC's high-speed train fleet, arrived in Kaohsiung for remodeling, testing, and inspection. This train commenced services when the three new train stations commenced operations.
    July
    • THSRC launched a new multi-ride ticket. After reporting a lost or stolen card, the cardholder may choose either to receive a refund or to have a new card issued.
    • Passengers purchasing tickets through the T Express mobile app could now download electronic ticket certificates through the THSRC corporate website.

    • The 2015 Taiwan Lantern Festival was celebrated in a special zone adjacent to HSR Taichung Station from March 5 to March 15.
    • “Deliver Love with HSR to Children,” a tuition assistance program hosted in tandem jointly with Child Welfare League Foundation, raised over NT$11 million for 2015, benefiting more than 1,000 schoolchildren from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since 2010, THSRC has raised close to NT$88 million to assist more than 17,500 students in paying tuition fees.

    • Added refund function to convenience store ticketing services; passengers who had purchased tickets from collaborating convenience stores could apply for refunds directly from convenience stores 30 minutes prior to train departures (refunds were limited to convenience stores from the same chain as ticket purchase).
    • Launched Windows Phone T Express mobile ticketing app to follow existing iOS and Android apps. Passengers with Windows phones could download and install the app for free from the Marketplace; booking, payment, and ticket collection procedures can all be completed via mobile phones, and QR codes can be directly swiped to gain entry at station gates. The app also provides information on train schedules, services, and promotions.

    • THSRC and the International Union of Railways (UIC) held the 2nd UIC World High Speed Interaction Workshop to offer a global platform for exchanges between experts and institutions in the area of high-speed rail system maintenance.
