Foreign passengers receive 30% off THSR One-Way Tickets

The THSR One-Way Ticket, very popular amongst foreign passengers pre-pandemic, will be offered at a 30% discount (10% in addition to the original 20% discount), effective immediately until November 30th of this year, as a welcoming gesture for the first wave of anticipated foreign visitors. Aside from being a keen response to the government’s “Steadily reopen the border, return society to normality” re-opening policy, it is also an effort to encourage foreign passengers to purchase the many and diverse travel packages offered by THSRC, hoping to take our international friends along a “ride with THSRC and travel Taiwan”.

In 2015, THSRC released the THSR One-Way Ticket specifically for passengers with a non-Taiwanese passport and holding a short-term entry document. The ticket became the best choice of city-bound transfer for foreign visitors upon arrival. Foreign passengers can buy the THSR One-Way Ticket via numerous overseas and local sales agents, and it can be used up to 90 days after purchase. To use the ticket, log on to the THSR Pass website and make a reservation. Then, once the reservation has been confirmed, take the reservation number, passenger passport with entry documents, and obtain the ticket at any Taiwan High Speed Rail station counter before boarding.

Besides the THSR One-Way Ticket, foreign passengers can also choose between a “THSR Pass” or a “THSR and TRA Joint Pass” depending on need, which will allow for unlimited rides not limited by point of departure or arrival for a chosen period of time.
