Fares and Types
Types of Tickets Discount Price Description  
Regular Tickets / Adult Tickets – Unless otherwise provided in the internal rules of the Company or under the laws and regulations, passengers who are at or above the age of 12 shall purchase full fare tickets. More information
Concession Tickets Child Tickets 50% off Children, whose heights are 115cm or above but less than 12 years of age, may purchase Child Tickets; provided that those whose heights are 150 cm or above shall present their IDs. More information
Ticket-exempt Child – Children whose heights are less than 115cm and children who are equal to or above 115cm in height but less than six years old with proof of ID may be exempted from Tickets.
If such children do not take seats and are escorted by passengers who have purchased full fare tickets or are adults. (Children who take seats should buy tickets)The number of ticket-exempt children escorted by each ticket-bearing passenger is limited to two children. 		 More information
Non-Reserved Seat – Tickets for non-reserved seats are only sold on the day of the ride, and no reservations are accepted.
Once issued your ticket is valid only on the specific date.		 More information
Group Tickets 5% off For groups with 11 or more passengers, whose departure/arrival stations, date of departure, train number and cabin type are identical, and all travelling together, they are eligible for purchasing the group tickets.
Group tickets are charged at 95% of full fare. There is no discount if the number of full fare passengers is less than 11.
Passengers eligible for multiple discounts can only choose one discount offer.		 More information

Types of Tickets Discount Price Description  
Multi-Ride Tickets Up to 18% off A Multi-Ride Ticket allows a specified number of rides to and from designated stations at a discounted rate within the offer validity period. More information
Periodic Tickets 51% off A Periodic Ticket allows an unlimited number of rides to and from designated stations at a discounted rate within the offer validity period. The discount is calculated based on the full fares for Non-reserved Seats (2 rides per day). More information
Early Bird Discount Up to 35% off The early-bird discount ticket can only be used by the registered passenger. The discount of 35% off, 20% off, or 10% off are offered for the trains which will depart 5 days later (including the booking date). More information
T Holiday – T Holiday offers premium itineraries every season. You can take care of THSR tickets, hotel accommodation, shuttle transportation and admission tickets all at one go. THSR Pass (Exclusive for foreign passengers) –
  • 3-Day PassUnlimited rides on Taiwan High Speed Rail trains for three consecutive days.
  • Flexible 2-Day PassUnlimited rides on Taiwan High Speed Rail trains for any two days of a designated seven-day period.
  • 5-Day Standard Joint PassUnlimited rides on Taiwan Railway Chu-Kuang Express or trains at a lower price than Chu-Kuang Express for five days and on Taiwan High Speed Rail trains for any two days within the designated five days.
  • 5-Day Premium Joint PassUnlimited rides on Taiwan Railway Tze-Chiang Limited Express or trains at a lower price than Tze-Chiang Limited Express for 5 days and on Taiwan High Speed Rail trains for any two days within the designated five days.
  • One-Way TicketOne ride in a reserved seat in a standard car between the selected destinations on the selected date.
