In order to encourage foreign passengers to travel to Taiwan, the Tourism Administration has cooperated with Taiwan High Speed Rail to launch the " Taiwan High Speed Rail One-Way Ticket buy 1 get 1 free". The event will be available globally starting from 12:00 noon on September 13, 2024(GMT +8). Foreign passengers with a short-term stay permission(visa, visa-free stamp...etc) can purchase One-Way Tickets at the designated travel agents, KKday and Klook. As long as their arrival station is any of the THSR stations to the south of Taichung (including Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Zuoying), they can enjoy a free ticket of the same section for their companion.

This event is limited to the foreign passengers entering Taiwan within a stay less than 180 days. It is not applicable to those who stay in Taiwan for a longer stay due to work or study.
